A Night Out at BIRD (hosted by The Fresh Cutst & special guests)
On Christmas eve (december 24th), BIRD will cook up a special dinner where all aspects come together. A night with jazz, funk, soul, disco and a delicious four course dinner, including wines, in the intimate atmosphere of jazzclub BIRD. Our regular backing band The Fresh Cuts, led by Salle de Jonge, accommodates a number of top musicians from the Rotterdam music scene and brings along some special guests this evening.
One of the special guest is Sandra St. Victor, lead singer of The Family Stand. Sandra’s a bit like The Ohio Players meets Sarah Vaughn … at the carwash. Sandra is likely to be known by the hit song ‘Ghetto Heaven’, or her performances with ‘Daughters of Soul’. Sandra’s 1st EP release was greeted with wild applause! Her interpretation of songs hit you tight in the core, making an audience truly feel what she’s feeling, understand where she’s been, and wanna know where she’s going. The mark of true artistry.
The Fresh Cuts share a passion for the classic motown and jazz greats, as well as the modern funkateers, neo-soul pioneers and hiphop guru’s of the old- and newskool era. All this is reflected in their approach to music; their devotion and skills result in monstergrooves and sounds that surpass any boundary.
