BIRD presents Nostalgia 77
BIRD, one of the finest club for jazz, soul, hiphop, funk and new electronica, is not only great with music in an intimate setting, but also with events, food and drinks. While enjoying the fine menu and complete bar, you can enjoy performances of exciting national and international artists of this time. One of the exciting international artists is British jazzproducer Nostalgia 77, who will perform with band in BIRD on Friday February 10th.
Nostalgia 77 is the music project of jazzproducer Benedic Lamdin. For the past years he has been working constantly as a producer, engineer and musician on various projects with artists like, Keith and Julie Tippett, Jeb Loy Nichols, Lizzy Parks, Larry Stabins, Alice Russel, Sara Mitra, Fringe Magnetic and Golden Age of Steam. With his music he has received numerous awards, a ‘John Peel’s Play More Jazz’ award and for his album Everything Under The Sun, Gilles Peterson’s ‘Jazz Track of the > Year’.
After being away for 4 years, Nostalgia 77 made a comeback in 2011 with a new album, The Sleepwalking Society. Soul singstress Josa Peit is featured on his new album and she has a soulful voice that perfectly combines with the jazzy sound of Benedic, which range from heavy funk to hiphop based beats mixed with dusty old jazz and psych bits and pieces. His last album influences varied jazz as well as folk and blues. These influences will feel like a warm blanket for the audience.
