The 9th of December a new edition of Rotterdams Open Doek takes place at LantarenVenster. A platform where film makers and film lovers can meet. Rotterdams Open Doek Favourite will win €750 for a new film project. The special guest for this edition will be pronounced later.

OASE #93 launch+film

Filmscreening of Robinson in Ruins (Patrick Keiller, UK,2010). Robinson, the shadowy, somewhat eccentric researcher embarks on a tour of ‘sites of scientific and historical interest’ in and around Oxford. This film is screened on the occasion of the launch of OASE #93, journal for architecture, this edition about ‘public nature’. Introductions by Michiel Dehaene and Claudia Faraone.

The Film Club of the Czech Centre in Rotterdam has prepared an exceptional cinematic experience for November – the documentary ‘Olga’, a personal portrait of Olga Havlová. Olga Havlová was a distinctive woman, publicly known as the wife of former dissident/president Václav Havel.

Manifest is a regular animation show & tell evening. Just like the school show & tell exercise, participants bring an animation clip that they love (that they didn’t create themselves) and they share with the audience what it is and why they chose it. Fruitbios @ Rotterdamse Munt: The Good Herb

The kick-off of the film series by Fruitbios at Rotterdamse munt is during the Little Rotterdamse Munt Fallfestival.

In the documentary, Michael Pollan takes the viewer to his research on the human relationship with world of plants. But this time from the perspective of the plants. The film shows how four familiar species - the apple, the tulip, cannabis and the potato - evolved to satisfy our yearnings for sweetness, beauty, intoxication and control.
