Camera Japan Festival 2012 - Japalicious!
Camera Japan, the biggest Japanese cultural event will take place from 4 until 7 October in LantarenVenster. This year we will focus on several facets of Japanese food and food culture. Expect over 50 film screenings (all English subtitled), concerts, performances, visual art and… food!
Our 7th festival edition will celebrate one of Japan’s most essential ingredients: a unique food culture & the century-old art of eating. Every town or area in Japan has its own speciality and an important part of one’s social life is spent at the dinner table, be it at home, at a restaurant or in a bar. Also in the arts it often appears prominently and films are definitely not an exception.
All good reasons for us to make food the central theme of this year’s edition of Camera Japan, with workshops, lectures, exhibitions, and last but not least, film and documentaries. All this is presented under the name ‘Japalicious!’ where we will serve you countless visual delicacies and many other surprises to trigger all your senses.
For those who like to challenge themselves and want to start the festival one day earlier, on Wednesday October 3d we will have a ‘Kick-off’ at WORM with an avant garde film by a Japanese master and a concert by Suzuki Junzo. Itadakimasu, or Eetsumaakurikku!
