From November 16 ‘till January 6 ‘De Stad = Grafisch’ takes place, this is a route along graphic arts galleries and exhibition spaces in the center of Rotterdam. Please check the website for more info, program and locations and visit the opening on the 21st.

Opening Image Festival

This friday-evening the opening of the Image Festival takes place at BLAAK10. Melle de Boer, Ernest Utermark and Hans Kievit graduated as illustrators at the WDKA Rotterdam University in the mid-nineties. They are exhibiting together at BLAAK10 during the Image Festival. Their recent projects will be exhibited on the ground floor and in the basement you’ll find a selection of works on the festival’s theme ‘Image & Music’.

MAVV presents: HAKA festival

HAKA festival is a multidisciplinary sustainable art and design festival. Located in the unique setting of a monumental 1930s office building, the HAKA festival offers a three day program of interactive art and design, installations, food concepts, films and a wide variety of live performances with a special saturday night party.

Numoon Weekender

Numoon Weekender is two das of nu-jazz, nu-soul, hip hop, electro, crossover worldmusic, singer/songwriter, poetry, dance, film and visuals. For this edition the collaborated with the IndieLabel Excelsior Recordings. On Saturday bands The Upsessions and Goslink will play some great music and Venour will host a live art show.

Gluren bij de Buren

Gluren bij de Buren (Peeking at the Neighbours) is a new event in Rotterdam, by the creators of Parfum de BoemBoem. On Sunday 24 October you can visit four of the most upcoming residentials of Rotterdam, by bike or by foot. Penthouses with view over the river Maas, self rebuilt warehouses, charachteristic mansions: you can see the diversity of living in Rotterdam with your own eyes. En route, you’ll be surprised by little concerts of artists as Goslink, Lucky Fonz III and Typhoon.

The Image Festival puts Rotterdam in the sign of imagery and visual culture in the last week of October. A festival with presentations of passionate image makers and inspirational exhibits for anyone who is interested in the making and meaning of images. This year’s theme is ‘Imagery & Music’.

F.A.R.T. is an interdisciplinary event for upcoming and well known talents in art, design, fashion, lifestyle, music and performance. This time another hotel and a hostel in Rotterdam will provide an original setting where various artists will present their work to a mixed crowd. They will temporarily transform each hotel room into their own world.

The next edition will take place during Festival De Wereld van Witte de With, and takes you to the most remarkable contraction sites around the Witte de Withstraat in a two hour tour full of cultural surprises.

Three-day art festival De Wereld van Witte de With highlights new and talented visual artists. This 11th edition, will feature art, fashion, theater, architecture and design on the cutting edge. Work from Luke Jerram (UK), Bureau Detours (DK), Peter de Cupere (BE) and Daniel González (DE) will feature along work from Rotterdam’s rising stars. Festival De Wereld van Witte de With is organized in collaboration with all major art centres in Rotterdam.
