With the advice of the Rotterdam Council for Arts and Culture for the next culture period entrepreneurship is rewarded but renowned institutions are also in danger of disappearing. How crucial is the advice and how valid is the vision behind this? Why are some rewarded and others overlooked? What is the advice for the city and the people involved? In conversation with Peter Sonneveld (Bonheur), Conrad Van Alphen (Sinfonia Rotterdam), Thomas Smith (Conny Janssen Dances), Gerrit Timmers (Independent Theatre), Deborah Middelman (council committee culture / VVD) and Kees Weeda (former Secretary General Council for Culture).
Townes Translated This january Jan Booister translated and made an album with lyrics and music of Townes Van Zandt. Talk about a legendary artist with Jan Booister and organizer / musician Ad van Meurs, who personally knew Townes Van Zandt and is preparing a tribute to be held in 2013. The presentation of the CD Townes Translated with live performances by Jan Booister. FREE CONSUMPTION offered during the break.
The creeping survival The flow of money for literary magazines is closed, but the Rotterdam magazine Tortuca follows its own proven track. For October an exhibition IS scheduled at the CBK. Editor Peter Swanborn about a quirky voice in literature.
