No Man’s Art Gallery pop-up exhibition |Rotterdam|

No Man’s Art Gallery organizes pop-up exhibitions at secret locations worldwide. In the end of May 2015, the gallery will pop-up somewhere in Rotterdam and unless you sign up you will not know where it will take place. The gallery exhibits young Dutch talented artists alongside the artists that were found during the previous pop-up galleries in Cape Town, Shanghai, Copenhagen, Paris, Mumbai, Hamburg and Amsterdam.

Opening Now Age

Dressed totem poles, pressed cat litter and an industrial pyramid: the international group exhibition Now Age mixes nature, mysticism and spirituality with the everyday here and now. With a performance of Das Hund, a project of Samuel Levack & Jennifer Lewandowski. You’re welcome on our opening!

Z-Files #11: Street Art - Now & Beyond

Rotterdam counts more old fashioned murals than any other city in the Netherlands, and today, street art still defines a large part of our city’s urban identity. Z-Files #11 is a live talkshow about the current state of Street Art - and Beyond. With: Rens Muis (75B), Dave van der Heijden (Hip Hop in je Smoel and Rewriters), interdisciplinary street art collective Opperclaes, community painters Haas&Hahn (Favelapaintings), visual artist Onno Poiesz.

The 10th edition of ‘Z-Files, Art & The City’ is dedicated to the return of the ‘1989’ sculpture by architect and artist John Körmeling. With: John Körmeling, Lauran Schijvens, Michelle Provoost, Wouter Vanstiphout, Charlemagne Palestine.

MARJOLIJN KOK - Now you see me, now you don’t

JOEY RAMONE Project Space is pleased to host the solo exhibition by Dutch artist Marjolijn Kok, which will be presented at the new project space next to the main gallery space. The exhibition opens on Saturday 25 April and runs till Saturday 30 May and it coincides with the solo exhibition in the gallery by Dutch artist Wietse Eeken.

Our former directors Chris Dercon and Nicolaus Schafhausen will also be joining this evening to reflect on our history as part of the celebrations for our 25th year anniversary.

Joint Opening Priscila Fernandes, The MoUS & Eva Olthof

On Labor Day, Friday May 1st three exhibitions will be opening in TENT: the solo exhibition of artist Priscila Fernandes, a fictional and temporary museum curated by TENT Curatorial Fellow Niekolaas Johannes Lekkerkerk and a presentation by Eva Olthof concerning Berlin’s first public academic library.

Artist Talk: An evening with Wineke Gartz

For the third installment of the In Light Of 25 Years project, Dutch artist Wineke Gartz created two collages combining documents from Witte de With’s archive, images of her own work, and other sourced material. 000 VA Auroral Blue transforms the archive into an image stream rather than an organized system.

Intoxicants, part of Witte de With’s current exhibition, Art In The Age Of…Energy and Raw Material, explores psychoactive drugs as a raw material and a technology for biochemical mutation. Innovation at the World Expo 1851 - now

In the context of the 34th World Expo opening in Milan this spring, Het Nieuwe Instituut approaches this phenomenon from different perspectives with three exhibitions between April 26 and August 23, 2015. From the at times extremely sober and at others downright over-the-top pavilions the Netherlands has put together over the last hundred years, to the great influence of glass on our progress, and a glimpse into a future with living machines.

They teamed up with innovative clothing label MPHVS to bring their vision of the future of the garment-industry to their concept store.

DRAWING RALLY @Alerta Pop-Up (toko51)

DRAWING RALLY is a nomadic event that showcases the creative process of a selected group of artists to the public. During 6 hours 20 artists will create new artworks alone or by collaborating with others. Visitors will see new works being produces and have the chance to take a freshly made artwork home There will be music, drinks, snacks and a silent action ( at the end of the day).

Proef#10: Sound

“Proeven” are a series of interactive film-nights where we investigate everyday food phenomena. “Proeven” means tasting as well as testing, which are perfect investigation tools. This month we will focus on the interrelation of Food & Sound with 4 guest curators from the field and a lot of audiosensual pleasures.

Louis Vuitton sued artist Nadia Plesner because of her use of their logo in a painting about the genocide in Darfur. Roodkapje got into problems because of the presenting of an controvert artwork in which, from a Western perspective, a jihad-combatant poses.
