The Big Short is a 2015 American film directed and co-written by Adam McKay. It’s based on the 2010 non-fiction book of the same name by Michael Lewis about the financial crisis of 2007–2008, triggered by the United States housing bubble. The film was nominated for five Academy Awards and won in the category of best Best Adapted Screenplay.

Typical Movies #2: El Hombre de al Lado

OMERO invites you to the next session of the Typical Movies #2, El Hombre de al Lado (The Man Next Door, by Mariano Cohn and Gastón Duprat, 2010).
The movie is entirely located at the Casa Curutchet in La Plata (Argentina). Casa Curutchet is designed by Le Corbusier in 1948 and it was completed under the supervision of the Argentine architect Amancio Williams in 1953.

Inspiring Cities Film: The Jane Jacobs Special

Last month it was the 100th anniversary of the birth of Jane Jacobs (1916-2006), the famous journalist, author and activist on urban issues. We dedicate this evening to her lessons about urban life, lessons that still teach us how to look at our cities, streets and sidewalks. Tonight we screen a movie that will inspire us with her ideas and activism.
