Third installment in the BRAUBLFF (Materie und Laut) series exploring the relations between language, matter and music. BRAUBLFF 3 goes back to the basics of voice, language and noise. Our four guests will put together an evening of exquisite performances that will include advanced vocal techniques, futuristic poetry and noise. Language, music and matter will trade places.

Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art hosts the screening of The Stuart Hall Project and a conversation with the director John Akomfrah by Nana Adusei-Poku, Research Professor in Cultural Diversity at Hogeschool Rotterdam and Witte de With’s Curatorial Fellow 2015, in collaboration with The Piet Zwart Institute and the Research Professorship for Cultural Diversity.

Masterclass: The Social Botany Project

Noted Chinese artist Xu Tan (Wuhan, 1957) will give an exclusive Master Class at Witte de With. Xu Tan began his career as a member of the well-known Guangzhou-based ‘Big Tail Elephant Group’. Powerfully and intelligently, Xu’s work calls for contemporary art to engage with social reality in our time, addressing urban, political, economic and cultural issues.
