New Cool Collective Big Band
New Cool Collective is back in the clubs with their Big Band show, with which they have built up a strong and famous reputation in the live-circuit. During the try-out show in Rotown the 19-piece band will, among others, perform the album ‘Pachinko’ live.
Big influence from ‘Pachinko’ is dedicated to the trip New Cool Collective took to Japan in the summer of 2009. Impressions of typical Japanese commercials en videoclips on the television in the hotelroom, but also the jackpot sound fragments from the game halls that the band heared during their walks in Tokio in the district Roppongi, found their way to the album.
‘Punkjazz’ is what the band calls these Japanese influences. But there are more. Rock is more dominant on this album, as well a 80’s sound feeling. Or is it a 90’s sound feeling? The band even talks about a clearly hearable electro-feel.
