Opening exhibition: Post-apocalyptic Institute for Nature and Science History
Oskar Maan (NL)
Water plants waiting for resurrection, echoes from the present and an oracle searching for Shakespeare will show that a dystopian future is in need of a self-documented present…. the new exhibition at Roodkapje!
The Post-apocalyptic Institute for Nature and Science History (PINSH) is an institute that preserves visions of the future for the present.
The PINSH finds it important that the current present is documented, because this present is afflicted by financial, economic and social crises and a pessimism fed by maya-calendars and inconvenient truths. Therefore the Institute has selected six dystopian, post-apocalyptic visions of the future. These visions form a guide to interpreting the present. By means of artist impressions, installations and images the PINSH prepares the future for the present.
Opening: 13 september 2012 20.00 - 22.00 hrs.
Exhibition: 13 september 2012 – 7 october 2012
During the Post-apocalyptic Institute for Nature and Science History a new edition of ‘MET’ will take place: get to know more about the artist Oskar Maan (NL) and his work, while enjoying his favourite food (3 october 2012 19.30 - 21.00).
