Opening: MAKING CITY MOVE(MENTS): ACTORS, AGENTS & ADHERENTS
A trans Berlin has invited participants from a variety of backgrounds who offer a fresh perspective on the ‘ideal’. Visitors can familiarize themselves with the ideals of filmmakers, artists and designers in the fields of media, art and architecture, of lecturers and students from universities, of local researchers and movements, not to mention of living heroes.
All are searching beyond their respective disciplines, looking beneath the surface, far into the future, and all are dedicated to enjoying life as it is. All of them conceptualize urban issues and architecture as potentially emancipatory structure that also conform the needs of users. These are visionaries and followers, actors and activists, agents and advocates. It is always the ideal which propels us forward, whether professionals or beginners, which moves and inspires us to attempt to realize our projects in urban contexts. Who came first and who is taking the lead in a new movement? Relax, the focus is always on human resources and creativity. With determination in her search for allies and like-minded individuals and groups, A trans-founder and architect Isolde Nagel has since 2006 presented a program designed to reflect, redefine and transform spatial, social, and urban phenomena. In 2012 Isolde Nagel was architect-in-residence at the Goethe-Institut Rotterdam.
