Opening podium (stage) Helderheidplein - zaterdag 30 juni 2012
In the neighborhood Feijenoord in Rotterdam South there’s a special plaza called ‘Helderheidplein’. It is named after the rapper H.E.L.D.E.R.H.E.I.D. that passed away in 2005. He was a rapper well-known for his positive and constructive dutch-spoken lyrics and had a positive influence on youngsters and a unique position in the Dutch Hiphopscene.
After his death the plaza is named after him. It’s a place where young people come together to chill, play soccer and enjoy music during the Helderheidfestival.
Helderheid’s mother formed a group with some friends and fans of her son and with this group she organizes music events for Hiphop artists and other events to improve the wellbeing of young people in rotterdam south. Now the group has built her own stage which can now be used for performances on the Helderheidplein.
On saturday june 30th the stage is officially opened with Hiphopperformances, speeches, food&drinks, soccer, graffiti. It starts at 15.00 uur untill 20.00 uur (3-8 PM). The adress is: Spiekmanstraat, Rotterdam South. Reachable with the train to station ‘Rotterdam South’ or tram 23/25 to station ‘Rotterdam South’. 5 minutes walk from there.
