A series of propositions by visual artists from across the globe that activates reflections on the notion of civilization and enables possibilities for comparative readings. Presented in the form of installations, library projects and a discursive program, this multitude of propositions work with urgent topics that pertain to the current European context, such as religion or the emergence of China in the global economy. Prompts & Triggers invites visitors to join in a new shared cultural ritual in which dialogue is pivotal. Prompts & Triggers began on 26 April 2012 with Meriç Algün Ringborg’s work Line No. 2 (Holy Bible) (2012) and is now followed by Qiu Zhijie’s Blueprints (2012). Prompts & Triggers takes place on Witte de With’s 3rd floor and makes use of the schooling environment space on the 2nd floor designed by Studio Miessen.
