Opening Exposition “All About Books”, Hans Wap

Saturday November 22nd, between 03:30 PM and 05:00 PM, the opening of the exposition “All About Books” of visual artist and poet Hans Wap, will take place at Studio de Bakkerij. Location: Bergweg 283, Rotterdam.

With this opening several pieces of art will be introduced by Hans Wap himself and also two other poets: Jana Beranova and Rien Vroegindeweij. The art pieces that Hans Wap exhibits in Studio de Bakkerij are paintings that each will tell you a story regarding a certain book. Mr. Wap is an all-round artist, who works according to different techniques. His poems are being used as content for several anthologies and magazines. Not only has Mr. Wap benefit the Scapino Ballet Rotterdam by making the decoration for this play; he also designed the chair coating and the window drawings of a Dutch train.

His most recent work is called “SCHROOT”, which is a collection of 32 black and white linoleums. This collection consists out of pieces regarding car graveyards, car-wracks and landscapes that have been affected by tsunamis, hurricanes, earthquakes and floods. SCHROOT will make its first appearance as a book in November 2014. Thirty poets have designed poems, which have been added to the book. The exposition “All About Books” is available till February 8th 2015, in Studio de Bakkerij. Free Entrance.

Museé des Possibilités

A museum is in its classical notion an institution in service of the audience, besides the collecting and caring for objects while researching and exhibiting them. These objects are usually of scientific, artistic, cultural or historical value. Contemporary artists and curators broke down the historical notion of the museum as a temple of knowledge by showing temporary artworks, bringing politics within the walls or organising social events as artworks.
