The 5-day Afrofuturism Now! festival at WORM is the first comprehensive presentation of Afrofuturism in the Netherlands. The festival features first-time gigs in NL for many cutting-edge Afrofuturist artists and musicians.

Festival De Keuze barst los

From Wednesday the 23rd until Sunday the 27th of September, the Rotterdamse Schouwburg and Schouwburgplein will be bursting at the seams, presenting a programme filled with cool and impressive theatre performances from all over the world.

Afrofuturism Now! Festival 14-18 October

Afrofuturism Now! is a unique, 5-day festival with a host of international artists. The programme includes speculative workshops, science-fiction readings, films, experimental fashion, video and collage art, afterparties (co-hosted by partners Pantropical, amongst others) sound art and music from international artists such as Moor Mother Goddess, Mutamassik, Islam Chipsy and King Britt.

Fabrique Mozaique in M4H

On Saturday the 5th of September Motel Mozaique spin-off ‘Fabrique Mozaique’ will be held in the harbour area M4H. With a stunning performance by Rats On Rafts (postpunk) on ‘Het Val van De Hef’, a live-interview with Kyteman (who will give us a sneak-preview of his new electronic sound) and a lot of tours in the exciting and dynamic area. Festival heart is Uit Je Eigen Stad where all tours start from.

On Friday, September 18th, the second edition of Park(ing) Day will take place in Rotterdam. Entrepreneurs, artists and residents are invited to let their creativity run free and transform parking spots into true urban parks. The municipality provides free parking spaces and DÂK the artificial turf for everyone who participates.

The longest stage festival on Saturday 29th of August is situated under an old railway bridge in Rotterdam Noord. The festival wants to celebrate this unique building with all sorts of curious performances from music to chair dance, located along the railway line.

The “Dag van de Romantische Muziek” is the oldest and biggest classical music festival in Rotterdam. During this day, “Het Park” (the park near the Euromast) will be completely transformed into a beautiful venue for the most romantic day of the year.
