SCREEN LOVER // open silkscreen workshop

Open Silkscreen Workshop from 13 to 23 december 2010 // a collaboration of DZR & Mesh Print Club Rotterdam

For a period of ten days Mesh Print Club and De Zwarte Ruyter will fix up an pop-up silkscreen workshop at the Van der Takstraat in Rotterdam. Individuals as well as initiatives are invited to multiply their designs, work on some posters or print a stack of t-shirts while having a tête-à-tête throughout the process.

Hosted by the RMC in cooperation with the Dutch Consul General in San Francisco and the Holland Hollywood Connection in Los Angeles, the USA Media Connection is a new event for the Dutch media sector exploring collaboration and entrepreneurship opportunities in the USA. This one-day event will have a special focus on film, music, interactive media and gaming.

Rotterdam Fixed Gear

24K Bikes and Rotterdam Fixed Gear are organizing the Death Or Glory Freestyle Trick Jam. This trickjam is focussed on Fixed Gear Freestyle. But please, if you want, bring your board or BMX as well if you want. They will meet up in the Skateplaza that is located on the south side of Rotterdam. Also on Friday there will be a meet and greet in the Singer Sweatshop.

The canary is perhaps the most popular bird. Since the Middle Ages people surround themselves with this cute songbird. This is a reading about these songbirds by curator Kees Moeliker, followed by a visit to ‘De Grote Kanarie Tentoonstelling’, which ends on Sunday, September 12.

NuHier.org presents a garden!

NuHier.org is hard to describe; it’s most of al a garden in the middle of some empty buildings in Rotterdam Noord. A lot of people from the neighbourhood help to raise vegetables and herbs in the garden but also a small podium is built for little concerts and soon a filmscreen will be added to this fantastic place!

At the botanical garden in Kralingen you can search and watch the bats and moths that live there during a special evening opening. Starting from dusk till midnight.

The garden is well worth a regular visit as well. A little peace and quiet time in a hectic city life.
