RAW EXPO 8 Feb-4 March
In the Fenix hangar in Rotterdam’s former red light district Katendrecht 62 international galleries and individual artists will show over 70 works on 5000m2. RAW EXPO is a sculpture exhibition on the first floor of this hangar.
The exhibition coincides with the RAW ART FAIR, which is on the ground floor. Both venues show art as it is meant to be in all its rawness. Art for everyone.
The exhibition floor will be transformed by theatrical lighting over the individual pieces. The docklands and the abandoned hangar will be the setting of an intriguing confrontation with the art works.
Amongst the participating artist are renowned names as Armando, Atelier Van Lieshout and Pjotr Müller but also young and promising talent as Tinkebell, Frank Bruggeman and Birgit Verwer.
The sculptures and installations in the exhibition were selected by Piet de Jonge (former chief curator of the Boijmans van Beuningen Museum and Museum Kröller Müller), Ruth Horstmanshoff and Teodora Kotseva.

RAW aims to place art and culture in a wider perspective in Rotterdam by combining various cultural disciplines: mainstream and street art, ‘established’ and ‘emerging’.
The two art fairs: RAW ART FAIR and ART Rotterdam will be jointly promoting a larger concept. Katendrecht (venue of RAW ART) and the Wilhelminapier (venue of the ART Rotterdam) will be connected with the new Rijnhaven bridge. Now the two fairs are in walking distance from each other providing a unique chance to discover this relatively unknown part of Rotterdam.
