The Edison Pop Awards is mostly about mainstream dutch pop music. Not something we would recommend to spend your saturday night. But this year they organized some coolworkshops called Edison Pop Sessions. You can learn all sorts of things about the music and comedy industry. Our personal favorite; Workshop Guitar hero with professionals!

Speyksessies is a crossover night with singer/songwriters, poets, short film, bands en art exhibition. It primarily focusses on young artistic talent from the city of Rotterdam, but every session will host a few known and proven artists.

On october 2nd, Colin Benders (known as Kyteman) provides a unique concert on the demolition site of the old Stadskantoor, presented by Parfum de BoemBoem. With his Requiem, he says an old friend goodbye.

Parfum de BoemBoem is a series of cultural tours along contraction and demolition sites in Rotterdam. The next and final tour of this season will be on october 2nd. The tour consists of a cultural walk (starting at 18.30) and a concert (starting at 21.00). Tickets are available for the walk and the concert, or just the concert.

The band Mono will give tribute to Led Zeppelin at the exit. After nearly forty years, Led Zeppelin continues to inspire generations with their groundbreaking blues-infused, guitar-driven rock ‘n’ roll. Arguably the biggest rock band in the world throughout their 12-year reign, they remain one of the most influential and innovative groups in music history. With over 200 million albums sold worldwide.

It’s Stardumb Records’ 10th anniversary and they’re celebrating with a special edition of the Stardumb Rumble. This means an amazing international line-up and an awesome party!

Saturday 25th of September the Rotterdam based energetic and experimental beatmaker Boom Boom du Terre, will play in De Beuk, a venue just outside Rotterdam. Piedro Pazzo will be DJ-ing.

Not one but two bands will present their new album at Club 3voor12 in Rotown. Funk & prog rock band Doodoo’s Coffee will present their new album called Itch Darling. And local shoegaze heroes AC Berkheimer present their second full album; We Tell Them Tonight. And again like always at Club 3voor12, it’s free!

Popronde is a music festival that around the Netherlands to showcase new upcoming bands. And on Friday the 17th they will take over the many bars and show popstages of Rotterdam.

Your Space presents for the second time the salsa event of Rotterdam, Spicy World of…
Spicy World of… is an event full of dj’s, food, drinks, live music and salsa. The theme of this edition is Spicy World of Puerto Rico. At 19.00 there will be a workshop ‘salsa dancing’. During the workshop you will learn the basic steps of salsa dancing. After the workshops, it’s partytime, you can show your skills on the dance floor with music by salsa artists Gerardo Rosales.

Saturday, September 25, it was 30 years ago that drummer John Bonham died. As a tribute Bart Hoevenaars (Sir Ian, ex-mono), Menno Bouma (ex-Mono, Elle Bandita), Jos Hoevenaars (Sir Ian, The New Earth Group) and Micah Herring (Sir Ian, Elle Bandita) do a ‘Tribute to Led Zeppelin’.
