Southbound is a pop project around vocalist, (song)writer and composer Roufaida Aboutaleb (20). Southbound is a crossover art project, as it features musical, lyrical and visual aspects. Debut single + video ‘Feathers’ is in stores worldwide starting February 2015.

Wednesday, March 4th: Filipe Monteiro Group Filipe Monteiro’s music is influenced by a mixture of different styles, folk, jazz, Brazilian music, musica gaucha (music originating from southern Brazil), rock and groove. Monteiro combines sophisticated rhythms with simplicity, which makes his music both original and accessible.

The Downbeat Detonators: With members that played in ska and reggae bands like Ollie Q and the Deep Six, Ska-D-Lite, the Regulators, Dreadless and acts like Klavan Gadje,TrenchcoaT which are bordering these genres, the Downbeat Detonators are armed to the teeth to demolish the ska-reggae scene with a dynamite reggae sound packed with organs, horns and the explosive riddims you would expect from this skanking squad of reggae veterans.

Subbacultcha! & Textuur present: Cult of Youth (US) + Blessum (NL)

Cult of Youth from Brooklyn play wayward indie with industrial and folk influences. They just released their new album Final Days on the high quality Sacred Bones imprint. Support is from Blessum (Keimpe Koldijk) who will give a one-time only live performance of this project, consisting of organ sounds, feedback and visuals.

With their roots in the ancient Ottoman, Anatolian, Balkan and West African music traditions, the trio welcomes you with its musical authenticity and hospitality. The original compositions are colored by daring improvisations and played in the character of chamber music. The Mehmet Polat Trio invites you on a sincere musical journey from the past to the future.

Radar Night met La Sra Tomasa + Los Paja Brava

Seven young boys from Barcelona setting the stage on fire with their wild mix of latin and dance. La Sra. Tomasa dares to mix up latin-american styles as timba and salsa with their own rumba catalana, adding substantial portions of reggae, funk and rap with a sound that relates to current electronic dance styles as drum & bass, dubstep and house. This fusion of styles leads to a repertoire that is always non-conventional, creative and highly danceable.

Little Axe is the alter ego of Skip McDonald (Little Axe was born as Bernard Alexander on September 1, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio (USA). A class musician who makes exceptional music and Moby influenced audible on the album ‘Play’. It is difficult to describe, but perhaps the term ‘hi-tech gospel blues / dub’ will fit.

Habib Koité

Malian guitarist Habib Koité is one of Africa’s most popular and recognized musicians. Habib Koité was born in 1958 in Thiès, a Senegalese town situated on the railway line connecting Dakar to Niger. “Nobody really taught me to sing or to play the guitar,” explains Habib, “I watched my parents, and it washed off on me.”
