SUBBACULTCHA! PRESENTS: SPILT MILK + MOON & SUN
SPILT MILK (NL), MOON & SUN (NL)
FRI 28.09.2012 22.00-02.00h
Spilt Milk is an Amsterdam based band with a heavy Velvet Underground vibe. They just released their 10” album ‘Carnet de Voyage’on the Subbacultcha! label. Inspired by American Modernist poet Wallace Stevens, Spilt Milk put the first 8 published poems by Stevens to lo-fi 60’s songs. Although Stevens’ poetry may not be the easiest, listening to Spilt Milk’s folk adaptations makes entering his abstract view of the world a rewarding experience.
Moon & Sun, also hailing from Amsterdam, is the work of Swedish songwriter and visual artist Monica Tormell. Influenced by lonesome, gloomy atmospheres and Caribbean tunes her music sets out to explore sonic constellations from the primitive to the electronic and manipulated.
Admission 7 EUR/ Free for Subbacultcha! Members!
