Tonight, after five days of screenings at LantarenVenster, the winners of the prestigious IFFR Short Film Awards will be announced. Bling bling, you’re all invited!
Opening Power Cut Middle East This years IFFR special with recent films and visual art works from the region with a focus on Syria and Egypt. Tonight no talk but music.

BooDooRoo An electric Oud straight out of the Persian suburbs, some keyboards that oscillate between Ethiopia and northern pop, a rhythm section of relentless groove and a hot and hoarse voice that sometimes sings, sometimes tells the confusion of a newborn freedom … Our whole is an anxious African soul, a high voltage rock blues, an Arab calligraphic punk, coarse story tales on urban beats, taking as much from the Algerian Chaabi culture as from Hendrix and Allen Ginsberg …
