Toktek & Simon Berz + Soundpiece presents Machinefabriek + DJ Sniff & Burkhard Beins
Alive and kicking musical dialogue between NL’s most innovative electronics diciple Toktek and percussionist/multi-instrumentalist Simon Berz. A with electronics advanced drumset will be played on virtuous manner in combination with Toktek’s ‘Joystick’-controlled arsenal of (do-it-yourself) electronics.
Also on the program: the premiere of a tape piece by Machinefabriek and a presentation of the ‘Bridges’ project with turntablist Dj Sniff and composer/performer Burkhard Beins.
In collaboration with David Dooghe from Rotterdam Festivals, WORM gave three composers/sounddesigners the assignment to make a tapecomposition for ‘SOUNDPIECE’. The composers are Rutger Zuydervelt, Pierre Bastien and Dyane Donk. Soundpiece is a soundinstallment, which is installed underneath Schouwburgplein. The musical pieces will be played at Schouwburgplein on in advance announced times and dates - if you’re at the location you can hear the pieces, even though you can’t really notice where the sound comes from. The next couple of months a new musical piece will be premiered every month; the first performance will be located at WORM, thereafter the pieces will only be heard in the public space. The composer that starts is Rutger Zuydervelt (who at the same time presents the Bridges project by which he is involved in a whole other way). Thanks to the ‘Fonds Voor Podiumkunsten’.
