The Balcony Players are an energetic traveling Gypsy/Klezmer Band that takes pride in making people happy and dance with their music. The international group includes members from the Netherlands, Belgium, Peru and New Orleans USA. Their music combines these different cultures with a mix of traditional Gypsy and Jewish music creating a rich and colorful sound perfect for dancing!

On Saturday, June 29th, work by the newly debuted gallery AAAFRESH123 on Zaagmolenkade will be shown during the North Sea Jazz Festival. Until the end of July, Hans Kleinjan, Roderick Faasen and Maikel Kleinjan will exhibit live paintings created during last years festival, along with work by Rotterdam photographer Cees Kuiper, including a selection of his best music pictures.

Friday the 5th of July the Benjamin Herman Trio will play at BIRD.

From September, rockband De Staat starts touring again. After a period of silence, the band announced a series of gigs across the country. Motel Mozaique presents De Staat on Thursday 14 November in Corso Rotterdam! Same club where they gave a sold out show in April 2011.

Besides shows at the biggest European festivals like Hurricane and Rock Werchter gypsypunkband Gogol Bordello plays the Rotterdamse Schouwburg on Sunday 23 June, their only Dutch show! One month later the band from New York will release their new album Pura Vida Conspiracy.

Frankie Cosmos is a very young and extremely talented and creative singer-songwriter in Folk-Rock style from New York City.

Negative Pegasus’ sound is a world away from their sunny, seaside home in Southern England. Richard Netley (Guitar/Vocals), Todd Jordan (Guitar/Vocals) and Carla Foss (Drums) mix droning, grinding loops with wild, sheets of guitar feedback to create a malevolent stew of hard-psyche and woozy, drone-garage.
